257 surgeries done on Cataract Mission

Mind Body & Soul Health Ministry, Inc first Cataract Surgery Mission for 2017 at the Mandeville Hospital in Jamaica was a great success. During the two and a half days, April 8-10, 257 persons had cataract surgeries. The mission ended with the left eye surgery of a seven year old girl who had her right eye done on our last visit. Our ophthalmologists travel for 57 hours to get to Jamaica from India and some team members from the USA travel from as far as California to volunteer their services. We thank them on behalf of the people of Jamaica. This was our third Cataract Mission to Jamaica since 2014 and a total of 715 patients have benifited. We heard testimonies from persons who were blind prior to the surgeries and were able to see the day after surgery. Thanks to the Mandeville Hospital staff and management for their support, to our sponsors Dr. Karan and Pallavi Patel and Alcon Eye Care, and to all the patients and their families who put their trust in our team.
